A user can access internet from their laptop from any part of the house. This also enables the many WAP enabled devices within the same household to access the internet at the same time. The technology has a larger broadband width which enables the customers to move freely without the connection being disconnected.
Since in a wireless internet connection one can move around freely within the range of the internet and there is no problem with the speed or rate of data transfer. In a satellite connection data transfer takes place only after reaching the satellite which takes much longer time. Wireless internet connection when compared to other internet connections loads the web pages easily, provides better internet facilities like video conferencing, social networking, web chats etc. Even with all these advantages wireless internet connection has their own disadvantages. Sometimes an intruder can use the wireless internet coming inside the range of the internet. This can end up in the owner of the internet connection paying up for the intruder's usage. This intrusion into the network can be avoided by protecting the network by a password.

Sometimes if the device using the internet moves too far from the range of the router there is a chance that the connection may get broken. To avoid this remain as close to the router as possible. Interference from other signals can always be a problem. This can cause the network connection to be too slow taking longer times for downloading or uploading of files. These can be avoided only by the network providers. There are chances that the steady service provided by the Ethernet connection may not be available in a wireless internet connection. Even when wireless internet connections have their own disadvantages they are becoming more popular especially among the working class who needs to access internet during their regular working hours, for them wireless internet connection is a helping hand in their job.
